Privacy Policy
We built this tool to be private by design. Here's exactly what we collect, what we don't, and why.
Last updated: March 24, 2026
Short version (TL;DR)
- • Your health data (age, weight, height, gender) never leaves your device. All calculations run in your browser.
- • We do not require an account, email, or sign-up of any kind.
- • We use standard analytics and advertising tools that may set cookies. You can opt out.
- • We do not sell your personal data to anyone.
Who We Are
The Free Metabolic Age Calculator is operated by BigTechies. We build free, accessible health tools funded through ethical advertising. If you have any questions about this policy, contact us via our Contact page.
This Privacy Policy applies to the website at metabolicagecalculator.pro and all associated pages and content.
Data You Enter into the Calculator
When you use our calculator, you type in personal health data such as your age, gender, height, and weight. Here is what happens to that data:
- It is processed entirely by JavaScript running inside your browser.
- It is never sent to our servers or any third-party server.
- It is not stored in cookies, localStorage, or any database.
- It disappears completely when you close or refresh the tab.
You can verify this yourself by opening your browser's Network tab and confirming that no requests are made to external endpoints when you interact with the calculator inputs.
Information We Collect Automatically
Like virtually all websites, we collect standard technical data automatically when you visit:
- IP address — used for approximate geolocation (country/city level) for analytics and ad-serving. Not linked to your calculator inputs.
- Browser type and version — used to ensure our site renders correctly across devices.
- Referring URL — the page you visited before ours, if any.
- Pages visited and time on site — aggregate usage patterns to understand which content is useful.
- Device type — desktop, tablet, or mobile.
This data is collected via analytics and advertising services described in Section 4. It is not linked to the health data you enter in the calculator.
Cookies & Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services, which may set cookies on your device:
- Google Analytics — page view and session data. Opt out here.
- Google AdSense — personalized or contextual advertising. Uses cookies to serve relevant ads. Manage ad preferences.
These services operate under their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review them. Most modern browsers let you block or delete cookies in Settings → Privacy.
How We Use the Data We Collect
The automatically collected data described in Section 3 is used to:
- Improve the reliability and performance of the site.
- Understand which content and tools users find most helpful.
- Serve advertisements that fund the free availability of this tool.
- Monitor for abuse, spam, or security threats.
We do not use this data to create individual user profiles, sell data to third parties, or run re-targeting campaigns.
Data Sharing & Disclosure
We do not sell, rent, or trade your data. We may share information in the following limited circumstances:
- Service providers: Analytics and ad networks (Google) as described above.
- Legal requirements: If required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
- Business transfers: If BigTechies is acquired or merged, user data would transfer as a business asset; we would notify users in advance.
Children's Privacy
Our calculator is designed for adults aged 15 and above (the minimum age supported by the Mifflin-St Jeor formula). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted data to us, please contact us and we will take appropriate action.
Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA)
Depending on where you live, you may have certain rights regarding your data:
- Right of access — request a copy of data we hold about you.
- Right to erasure — request deletion of your data.
- Right to object — object to processing your data for advertising purposes.
- Right to portability — receive your data in a portable format.
- CCPA opt-out — California residents may opt out of the sale of personal information (we don't sell data, but the right applies nonetheless).
Since we collect almost no personal data, most requests will be straightforward. Contact us via the Contact page to exercise any of these rights.
Data Security
We implement standard web security practices including HTTPS encryption, regular dependency updates, and access controls. However, no internet transmission is 100% secure. Because your health inputs never leave your browser, the primary security boundary is your own device.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of the page. Significant changes will be noted prominently. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
